Frank was a senior director in the stockbroking company of Brewin Dolphin Securities Ltd., in their Corporate Finance Division, based in the Edinburgh office of Bell Lawrie, and was well known in the business community of the cities of Edinburgh and London. He was also the current captain of The Royal Burgess Golfing Society of Edinburgh, the oldest golf club in the world. He is thought to be the first captain in its 272 year history to die in office. We offer our sincere condolences to his family. We regret to announce the death of Michael, Stephen and Martin Croan’s father. Our sympathy is offered. We have recently heard that Norman Stone, brother of Gordon, died some years ago on the golf course. Once again, condolences are offered. Congratulations to Gordon McCready on becoming a grandfather. His father, who broke the news to your scribe, advised that Gordon wants to treat the news as low key, as he considers himself far too young. Gordon’s father was aghast when reminded that he was now a great grandfather.
