The following is information we received about Br Forde-

Rev Br John Leo Forde, Irish Christian Brother. Born Butlerstown, Timoleaque, Co Cork. 9 January 1921. After studying in the national school in Butlerstown, he joined the congregation in Carlett Park, Wirral, Cheshire on 8 September 1938. He took his BA and spent the years 1943-52 at St Charles School, Brentwood. In 1952 he was transferred to Anselm"s College, Birkenhead until 1954 when he went to Scotus Academy, Edinburgh, where, after studying at Moray House, he was on the staff of the school until 1964 when he was appointed superior of St Ninian's, Falkland Fife until 1970. After 3 years in Liverpool he retired to St Ninian's where he acted as Superior until 1976, served for 3 more years and subsuperior and Bursar until early 1981 when he went to the Christian Brothers Hostel in Maynooth, Ireland until September, 1981. He died at the Manchester Wythenshawe Hospital following major heart surgery.
