 School News

We regret to report the death of George O’Hara (1958-1963).

Change of e-mail address:- Dr. Adrian Kendal;

We have been advised that Canon Alan Finley is shortly to be transferred from the clergy at Bristol to become parish priest at St Theresa’s parish, and St George’s parish in Taunton. He advises that the move, in September, will be good for watching cricket next year. We foresee an opportunity here for money to be made, as a sign on the presbytery door reading “Bed & Breakfast” would swell the coffers, especially if discount is offered to Scotus FPs. Canon Finley advises:-Finally, something to beware of: I had a £2 coin slip out of my pocket the other day, in the car. It fell down a small slot beneath the handbrake. A few days later I noticed a bit of a pull and when parked back here a smell of burning. Called the breakdown bloke who eventually fished out with pliers the £2 coin. He said I should have the brake pads looked at so went in to a garage yesterday and came out £411.60p lighter!!! As a lady at Mass said this morning, "look on the bight side, Father - it only really cost you £409.60p!"

Sean Doull-Connolly reminds us that June 23rd was the 50th anniversary of the opening night of “ The Land of Green Ginger” at Lauriston Hall, and wondered if any of his colleagues remembered the event.

Eddie Jones sent a link to history about Arthur, and this musical:-

Bruce Laidlaw wrote from Sydney, Australia, to advise that his family own a Thai restaurant there, and would be delighted to offer any Scotus FPs 50% discount. Your editor has eaten there and can recommend the experience. The web address is:- http://www.saabwer.com.au/

Bruce also advises us that he has been singing in a choir, and Arthur Oldham would have been proud. See him on:-  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIAdO3yl2xPEPdJGKM8tv7A

It appears that George Dudgeon has changed his e-mail address. Does anyone know his new address?

It seems that June 1975 was a big year for FP marriages. Frank Vernolini and Paul Barry got married then, but not to each other. Congratulations to them, and any others celebrating these momentous events.
